Indigenous Community Outreach and Marketing Ambassador

We are seeking an experienced and culturally sensitive Indigenous Indigenous Community Outreach and Marketing Ambassador to join our small but mighty IT Consulting team.

The successful candidate will play a key role in fostering positive relationships and cultural collaboration with Indigenous communities, organizations, and individuals.

They will serve as a bridge between our organization and Indigenous stakeholders, ensuring cultural awareness, respect, and collaboration in all our initiatives, aligned with the Truth and Reconciliation’s Call to Action # 92.

SkyFly Solutions is committed to providing opportunities for Indigenous Peoples within the context of an Information Technology Consulting firm, per our one Indigenous Participation Plan. We would love to see Indigenous applicants for this position from any community from across Canada.

Key Responsibilities:
 

  • Develop and implement informed strategies to collaborate with and consult Indigenous leaders and communities and stakeholders effectively.
     

  • Participate in Indigenous associations, committees, and partnerships, advocating for Indigenous interests and priorities on behalf of SkyFly.
     

  • Integrate Indigenous perspectives, practices, and values into organizational initiatives and marketing campaigns and facilitate internal training regarding these perspectives, practices and values.
     

  • Create and implement Indigenous Participation Plans (IPP’s) for SkyFly and our clients.
     

  • Collaborating with Indigenous Leaders, conduct research on Indigenous cultures, traditions, and current issues to inform organizational decision-making and business operations.
     

  • Manage social media platforms and online communities to promote Indigenous cultural awareness and engagement.
     

  • Monitor and evaluate the impact of organizational initiatives on Indigenous communities and stakeholders, seeking feedback and making adjustments as needed.
     

Qualifications:
 

  • Demonstrated experience working with Indigenous communities and organizations, with a deep understanding of Indigenous cultures, protocols, and issues.
     

  • Experience reviewing, creating, developing and implementing Indigenous Participation Plans (IPP’s) or similar Social Procurement DEI and ESG initiatives.
     

  • Cultural competency and sensitivity, with a commitment to advancing reconciliation and promoting Indigenous rights, sovereignty, and self-determination.
     

  • Strong marketing, organizational, and communication skills, with the ability to develop and execute strategic plans effectively.
     

  • Proficiency in social media management and digital marketing tools, with experience in leveraging social media platforms to promote cultural awareness and engagement.
     

  • Excellent interpersonal and relationship-building skills, with the ability to work collaboratively and respectfully with people from diverse backgrounds.
     

  • Minimum of 5 years in a similar role.
     

  • Preference will be given to Indigenous Applicants with a desire to assist SkyFly to grow to a more culturally aware and socially diverse and collaborative and financially sound business.
     

Compensation:
 

  • Salary range: $70 - $90K

  • Comprehensive Health and Medical Benefits

  • 3 weeks vacation
